Cloud Computing and Data Security
Common security threat concepts and corresponding remedy in the cloud
Cloud Computing is one of the most important advancements in technology since the invention of the Personal Computers. Cloud Computing refers to manipulating, configuring and accessing the applications via the Internet and provides various kinds of services to its users. One of the principal concerns of Cloud Computing is security. With the cloud technology paradigm, data is stored at a remote location and must be assured that is safe and be available at any time.
Cloud security deals with the processes, policies, resources, and technologies involved in keeping cloud computing architectures protected from cybersecurity threats and risks. Effective cloud security measures aim to keep cloud data, applications, and services shielded against new and existing threats via proper controls and solutions.
In the last 18 months, 79% of companies have experienced at least one cloud data breach; even more alarmingly, 43% have reported 10 or more breaches in that time.
